01/29/09 The 2009 Spokane Ag Expo and PNW Farm Forum

Farm and Ranch January 29, 2009 The 2009 Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest Farm Forum is next week, February 3rd through the 5th at the Spokane Convention Center Complex. Billed as the largest farm machinery show in the Inland Northwest, the event will host hundreds of exhibitors and conduct seminars and forums directly relating to agri-business from large-scale operations to small acreage farms and ranchers. Show Manager Myrna O'Leary highlights the speakers for the opening session next Tuesday being held the DoubleTree Hotel. O'Leary: "Will be Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Jim Sims. He is president and CEO from the Western Business Roundtable. And their topic is going to be future energy policy. And then following will be Art Douglas." Douglas of course is Professor Emeritus, Atmospheric Science Department of Creighton University who will present his 2009 Forecast for Weather Conditions in the Northwest. O'Leary: "On Wednesday we have our cattle session with hot topics for the cattle industry. Those speakers will be Jack Field from the Washington Cattlemen's Association and Jess Peterson from the U.S. Cattlemen's Association." Thursday is a crop marketing seminar "Selling your Crops in a Volatile Market" presented by Mike Krueger of MK Commodities and James Bower of Bower Trading. The price for everything remains just $10 and that includes the free parking at the Veteran's Memorial Arena and the bus ride to the expo and seminars.
