Oregon Beef Ambassador Program

Since May of 2013 Gabriella DeSimone has been representing Oregon’s Beef industry as the Oregon Beef Ambassador. She is a junior at California State University in Chico and is studying agricultural business management with a minor in Spanish. She plans on returning to her family’s ranch. She is the sixth generation to be involved.

 

DeSimone shares more details about the program who is currently looking for applicants for the 2014 Beef Ambassador. Prospective youth should be someone involved in the beef industry, be an Oregon resident and be in age between 17 and 20.

 

DeSimone: “For the Beef Ambassador program they focus on three specific areas which are the consumer promotions, classroom presentations and then social media.”

 

She shares what she gained in her year of representing Oregon’s beef industry.

 

DeSimone: “Through my year of being Beef Ambassador I really discovered the passion I have for the education and the outreach aspect of the beef industry. So I would really love to work more with the Beef Council.”

 

Those Oregon young people interested in applying to be the 2014 Beef Ambassador the deadline has been extended until February 15th. You can go to their Facebook page to get an application. Requirements in addition to filling out the application.
