OCA Convention

I’m KayDee Gilkey and welcome to Open Range. Here’s Greg with today’s report.

I’m Greg Martin with the AgriBeef Minute. Lauren Montgomery, Communications Officer with the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association talks about the upcoming OCA Convention.

MONTGOMERY: Friday morning during our opening ceremonies president of the National Beef Cattleman’s Association, Scott George, will be saying a few words. We have a pretty good balance of fun and interactive programs as well as educational opportunities and time set aside for collaboration on various regulatory matters. We’ve invited various legislators as well as other state and federal agencies.

She says there will be a lot of great roundtables and discussions but there is room for some fun as well.

MONTGOMERY: We have something fun going on every day. On Thursday in the evening we have the Central Oregon Ranch Supply Tail Gate Party and on Friday we have our Western Fun and Casino night which is always a blast.

You need to get registered for this fun and important event.

MONTGOMERY: This year at the Riverhouse in Bend, Oregon December 5th through the 7th. We start off on Thursday at 8am with a Beef Quality Assurance training and it will go into a cattleman’s college title “Steer to Steak” where we’ll have a live demonstration of a beef carcass breakdown. And if people want to register they can go to www.orcattle.com.

I’m Greg Martin and that’s today’s AgriBeef Minute.

Thanks Greg. Don’t forget Greg will be back each Wednesday with the AgriBeef Minute. Agri Beef Co - Real Families, Great People, Exceptional Beef. I’m KayDee Gilkey.
