New Favorite Wine

New Favorite Wine

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. Recently I had a really nice vineyard designated Syrah from one of my favorite Washington producers Thurston Wolfe and on today's program I want to tell you all about it. Of course when I find my new favorite wine I want to share. This is a vineyard designated wine meaning that Thurston Wolfe winemaker Wade Wolfe thinks highly of this vineyard and that all of the fruit in the wine was from this vineyard and he is honoring Burgess Vineyard and its growers by acknowledging it on the label. The Syrah is very dark and inky with an almost blue tone. The aromatics are full of blueberry and ripe fruits with a touch of the spice from being aged in a combination of French and American oak. It was rich and dense and I was wishing I was eating spicy Italian sausage rather than pizza. Only 195 cases were produced so don't wait to visit the winery or go online to purchase the 2008 Thurston Wolfe Burgess Vineyard Syrah. And remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
