It's Cowboy Christmas in Vegas
It’ that time of year again...Cowboy Christmas, this year it will be decked in silver......I’m Susan Allen I’ll be back with to tell you how to kick off your holiday season. From December 3rd through 12th Vegas will a sea of cowboy hats, and belts with bling showcasing the silver anniversary of the Wrangler National Final’s Rodeo. They’ll be celebrating the fact the Finals was moved to Las Vegas fifty years ago. with a record purse of 5.75 million. For team roping fans, and there’s quite a few of us in the Northwest, new changes could shake up the standings. This year they are only allowing two loops per team per run and while that stands to slow the event down, It could shake the venue up and favor a different style of roper. Unfortunately, unlike years past we will be a tad weak on Northwest competitors notably in team roping, with only the Minor brothers from Ellensburg and Charley Crawford from Prineville making the finals. But our region has become a bareback Mecca. Bobby Mote from Oregon sits second in the standings, Ryan Grey from Cheney tails him at third with Steven Peeples and Jason Havens both from Central Oregon riding the bubble. Watch for Trevor Knowles from Oregon dominate in steer wrestling. Matt Shiozawa from Chubbuck Idaho and Tyson Durfey from Wa will represent us in tie down and Zack Oaks is our lone bull Rider. Brenda Mays from Terrebonne and Sue Smith from Blackfoot Idaho will chasing barrels on our behalf. It’s a silver studded Cowboy Christmas in Vegas you won’t want to miss. I’m Susan Allen
