**Regular meat inspections have detected African swine fever in vacuum-packed pork sausage brought into Japan by a person from Beijing.

Bringing pork meat and products from China into Japan is prohibited, but this is the third case of ASF found in pork products.

According to agweb.com, it's unlikely the pork was infectious, but more testing is being done.

Japan has since tightened quarantine operations at airports and seaports.

**New developments that COULD bring an end to the trade battle with China.

Agweb.com reports, President Trump will meet with China's President Xi Jinping later this month at the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires.

White House Economic Adviser Larry Kudlow says "Our asks are on the table. I'd love to see them respond. Thus far they haven't.

The meeting comes as recent tariffs were put on some $200 billion worth of Chinese goods. China retaliated, putting tariffs on American products.

**U.S. farmers planted over 90 percent of soybean, cotton, and corn acres in 2018 with genetically engineered seeds, mostly herbicide tolerant, insect resistant, or both.

The share of U.S. soybean acres planted with HT seeds rose from about 7-percent in 1996 and plateaued at 94-percent in 2014, cotton from 2-percent to 91-percent, and corn grew slowly to about 90-percent in 2018.

Demand for GE seeds is affected by the severity of pest infestations, output prices, input prices, and the commercialization of new GE traits.
