Putting Colorado's vets to work in agriculture.

This year more than 200-thousand US veterans will leave the service and return to the private sector.

Some come from rural areas and some have a background in agriculture. Some would like to find new careers in ag. To help them achieve those goals the USDA has a new tool.

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue in Washington. Perdue said the website www.usda.gov/veterans is only one of the tools that the Agriculture Department will be using to reach out to returning veterans. This all may be good news for Colorado which was one of only eight states with increasing numbers of homeless veterans. That's according to the 2016 report - the most recent - from the Department of Housing and Urban Development's annual report on homelessness.
