The White House has formally notified Congress of plans to begin trade talks with the European Union. Acting U.S. Trade Rep Demetrios Marantis says a high-standard comprehensive trade agreement with Europe will be enormously beneficial for the U.S. economy.

The author of the book Harvest the Wind sees huge impacts that wind energy is having on rural farm communities. One of the biggest benefits farming communities mentioned about wind energy are lease payments paid to landowners which are a valuable buffer against the uncertainties of weather and a great hedge against the ups and downs in grain and cattle prices.

The Washington Farm Labor Association is offering a free seminar on the new Form I-9. The webinar will cover an overview of the changes made, how to properly complete the form, tips for seasonal employers, as well as an opportunity to get your questions answered.
