The USDA is reminding farmers that they need to fill out their 2013 Census of Ag forms and return them by the deadline. The National Ag Statistics Service does the census every 5 years and it’s a mandatory program for ag producers.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley sees 2013 as a year of uncertainty for America’s farmers and ranchers. Grassley says for starters - the IRS needs to relax the March 1st tax filing deadline for farmers the same way it did for other filers due to the lateness of fiscal cliff action.

The U.S. Court of Appeals has denied petitions to rehear the case against the Environmental Protection Agency for permitting the commercial use of E-15. Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis says this order leaves in place an earlier decision by the Court denying challenges to EPA’s decision to allow E-15 to enter the marketplace.

That’s today’s Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network.
