Josh Mills talks about the importance of public lands. "I'm a big public lands advocate. They are the base element of a person who spends a great deal of time in the outdoors whether that is River corridors or national forests or BLM tracks. Public lands total over 640 million acres that you as a public landowner can go out and recreate at your will. There is no other place in this world like that. "Some of the most important legislation with regard to conservation, public lands and the like, is headed to Congress very soon. The debate is on and it should pass but we need to contact all of our senators and congressmen and let them know that if you believe in public lands urge them to pass what is called SR 47. The most important thing that I can see is that it includes permanent re-authorization the land and water conservation fund. That takes small portions of offshore oil and gas leases and redistributes them back to small and large projects throughout the country that preserves land and access to allow for easements, it pays for ballparks and gigantic tracks of land. This is the key element and function that we can use to preserve public lands and add more public lands and add more access to the public roster.
