People, pets, farmers, and sportsmen are all spending more time outdoors as spring arrives. South Dakota State University Extension pesticide education and urban entomology field specialist Dr. Amanda Bachmann says ticks are becoming active, as well.

Dr. Bachmann says there are things you can do to decrease your chance of having a tick latch on. "be sure to wear a tick repellent and wear long sleeve shirts and pants with your pant legs tucked into your socks. Also put preventative on your dogs."
