Dog school taught by dogs. Wednesday, we learned a little bit about shock collars for training hunting dogs. Well speaking about training hunting dogs, Lee Roberts got a twofer out of his dog school. they were both trained but in entirely different ways."I had two drothauers, one 2 years older than the other, the 1st one I had trained by a professional trainer for pheasant hunting for pointing birds and I enjoyed greatly going out with it although I was not an avid hunter, I still liked doing it. We got the 2nd dog and it was about 5 or 6 months old, I started taking her along with the 1st. The 2nd dog would run around and do what copies we do while the 1st paid no attention to her and went about his business. Pretty soon the younger dog noticed what was going on and just duplicated whatever the older dog did. As I gave commands with hand motions of the older dog to traverse certain distances, the younger dog started doing the same thing. When the older dog started pointing birds the other dog started doing the exact same thing and after 5 or 6 times I could take the younger dog out by herself and she did just as well as the older one.
