This is Bob Larson with the Market Line Report for Monday, January 1st. A mixed bag in grains on this last day of trading in 2017. From the floor of the CME in Chicago, here's Virginia McGathey ...

Virginia McGathey ... "Wheat was kind of drifting. It was a little bit higher than lower. It seemed that the frigid temperatures are really still an issue out there, but the rally is kind of sputtering and it kind of ran out of steam somewhat. One of the things to think about is that it will take a number of months to find out how much crop damage there will be in that winter wheat product so it's a little bit difficult to tell. So, right now having a lift in the market with the world wheat supplies as big as they are really looks good for that particular commodity. That's all from the floor of the CME Group. Happy New Year from here in Chicago. I'm Virginia McGathey."
