This is Bob Larson with the Market Line Report for Tuesday, January 2nd. No trading on New Year's Day, but with Friday's cattle results from the floor of the CME in Chicago, here's Virginia McGathey ...

Virginia McGathey ... "The cattle today was a little bit lower. Prices are really starting to consolidate. Traders today were waiting for the cash buyers to come in. So far, nothing doing and the markets really starting to sink a little bit. Today's the last day of the December contract and that was kind of really was lower by almost $155. It still looks good overall for 2018. So, even though the market's come down and we're in that consolidated phase we're still watching closely. That's all from the floor of the CME group. Happy New Year from here in Chicago. I'm Virginia McGathey."
