This is Bob Larson with the Market Line Report for Tuesday, October 3rd Live cattle trading goes back and forth Monday. With details from the floor of the CME in Chicago, here's Joe Vaclavik ...

Vaclavik ... "Live cattle market traded both sides of unchanged here on Monday. We started the day a bit little higher and then leaked lower later in the session. The cash cattle market was steady last week. We were, I believe, $108 in most areas, kind of a thin trade and that was steady which, again, I kind of consider to be a victory following that bearish cattle-on-feed report from a couple of weeks ago and the subsequent sell-off on the board. The boxed beef market has rebounded a little bit although it was lower here at the a.m. print, but overall we've seen a nice little rebound. Choice boxes went from $190 or somewhere around that neighborhood back up into the upper $190's here this week. So, we've seen a little bit of stability in that boxed beef market at least. "
