11/04/05 Wheat futures close slightly higher

Wheat futures were slightly higher Thursday. Chicago December wheat ended 1/4 of a cent higher to close at $3.13 1/4. Kansas City December was up 2 cents at $3.62 ½. But Joe Victor of Allendale Associates says the export news didn't excite the markets on Friday. VICTOR "The good news that there was enough commercial interest in this market today when you look at the players reports that are coming in from these markets. The commercial interest in wheat is very noticeable and we're also seeing where the actual rates from the end users and even the basis for the interior starting to perk up here a little bit." And at the close Friday Minneapolis December contracts were 6 cents higher at $3.71 1/2. December corn up 1/4 to 1.96 ¼ Portland cash white, mostly 3.50. Club White down .01, mostly 3.95 Pacific Northwest HRW 11.5 percent protein mostly 4.54 Dark Northern Spring 14 percent protein mostly 5.22 Live cattle futures were higher on Thursday. Futures found support from expectations for firm to higher cash prices. December live cattle gained 60 points to close at $90.90. February closed .40 higher at $93.70. January feeders up .45 to 114.35. December Class III milk at Chicago down .06 to 13.20.
