Performers will be prevalent at the 2019 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show in New Orleans, La., Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2019 – and four more from the industry will be selected in the next few weeks to show off their talents at the event. Finalists for the NCBA National Anthem Contest, sponsored by Norbrook, and the NCBA Cowboy Poetry Contest, sponsored by IMI Global, have been selected, and the public is invited to weigh in and vote for their favorites.

Finalists for the fifth annual National Anthem Contest are: Josie Foglesong (Astoria, Ill.), Prairie Rose Robbins (Brookville, Kan.), Kari Wheeler (Biggs, Calif.) and Jenna Spangler (Marietta, Ill.)

Finalists for the Cowboy Poetry Contest are: Mike Williams (Acton, Calif.), Jeff “Tigger” Erhardt (Mayetta, Kan.), Ronald McKay (Elk Point, S.D.), Clyde Chess (Rush, Colo.), Tyrel Templar (Canyon, Texas) and Annie Mackenzie (Jordan Valley, Ore.)

Winner of the anthem contest wins an expense paid trip to New Orleans to sing the anthem at the convention Opening General Session and at the Friday night Cowboy Concert Series event. The top three winners of the poetry contest will perform their poems live at the Cowboy Concert Series. The winner will receive a free trip to the convention, and their poetry published in National Cattlemen newspaper and on the organization’s website, pending proof of copyright.

Public voting for winners opened Nov. 1 and will run through Dec. 4, 2018. Winners will be announced Dec. 5. To view finalists and cast your vote (one vote per location per day), or to register for the convention, go to www.convention.beefusa.org.
