Hi everybody it's time for your Land and Livestock Report here on the Ag Information Network of the West-I'm Russell Nemetz.

Well, today I'm broadcasting from the 2018 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade which is officially underway here in Phoenix, Arizona. And this week over 7,500 cattlemen and cattlewomen are expected to be in attendance.

And plenty of newsmakers on hand too like Kevin Kester from California. Kevin is the incoming president of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.

Here in Phoenix he told me some of the accomplishments for NCBA in 2017 included the recently passed Tax Reform legislation and getting GIPSA killed.

As for 2018, he says a key priority for NCBA will be trade and making sure U.S. cattlemen and cattlewomen and access to important international markets.

That's your Land and Livestock Report-I'm Russell Nemetz.
