"You can't beat this. It is dry everyplace. When everybody else has got mud, I don't have mud."

It's lambing season and we're visiting Schertz Sheep Company off Roswell Road outside Wilder. This is one of the biggest sheep ranches in Idaho. Owner Frank Schertz has been a sheep man his whole life. "My dad always had a few sheep, between 40 and 400. He sheared all over the country so he was always around them. I have always been around sheep. My brothers and I started a little outfit up there. We had three single guys out working in the woods, living on nothing and putting all of our money into sheep." Fast-forward thirty years and Frank along with a crew of 24 have their hands full. "I've got about 7000 ewes, so they will have a around 10,000. So doing the math when it comes to Spring pasture turnout it will be 7000 ewes and 10,000 lambs." Tomorrow Frank talks about Summer pasture and wild dogs.
