Thanks to a generous donation from the Bonneville County Farm Bureau amounting to $72,500, the county fair is now able to add important space to the Bonneville County Fair Grounds. The county wlll add a 15,000 ft.² housing area for small animals being shown and sold at the county fair. Bonneville County Commissioner Byron Reed says the renovated Farm Bureau barn will be the centerpiece of the new fairgrounds located at the corner of 15th E. and 73rd S. “It sits right in the center of our hub, the new 4H County Fairground which is under construction right now and that building is 15,000 ft.². It will hold the goats, the lambs, the chickens, the rabbits, it will really be the hub for the small animals that will be kept at the fair during our fair week and then shown and sold at the end of the week.” Commissioner Reid says agriculture is vital to Bonneville County. “Bonneville County really thrives because of agriculture. My family moved here the same year that the county became Bonneville County, nearly 100 years ago. It has been an important part of my life and I can tell you as the commissioner of Bonneville County that agriculture is really the hub that keeps us going.” The donation was given during the Annual Meeting of the Bonneville County Farm Bureau.
