02/07/05 Young Farmer and Rancher, Pearson

Rick and Susan Pearson are raising daughter Emily on their Hagerman farm. As past chairmen of the Idaho Young Farmers and Ranchers the Pearsons have spent the past two years on the board of directors for the national organization. RICK "Had the opportunity to visit with President Stallman, you know, one on one. I guarantee you he'll never forget the day I asked him to cut his speech short because the Daytona 500 was coming on. We grow sugar snap peas, sweet corn, silage corn, barley, alfalfa, dry beans, pinto beans. I've grown black beans and different varieties of beans. My family has a couple of dairies so most of the crops that I grow go to the dairies." SUSAN "I think I think that farming it just a different way of life and it's a way of life I wanted even before I knew I was going to marry a farmer because I think farmers are down to earth and really in touch with realities. Rich and Susan Pearson of Hagerman, Young Farmers and Ranchers and so honored by the Idaho Farm Bureau. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
