Busy Time for Beef Feeders

JW Wood is with Boise Valley Feeders which is a feedlot owned by Agri Beef in Parma, ID.

He says it's a busy time of the year taking care of the cattle that will ultimately become a high-quality beef product for consumers.

"This time of the year can be a little bit more challenging just with the precipitation and weather" said Wood. "So, we work really hard to continue to provide the most comfortable and care possible and try to be consistent with our feeding and milling program. We install as many best management practices as possible with the cattle."

He says they're also appreciative of the ranchers they work with who supply the cattle.

"We're pretty fortunate that we have a good list of suppliers that we work with" said Wood. "We work with a lot of them very closely on the Snake River Farms Program to build our supply chain. We are vertically integrated which helps us manage the quality perspective."

Agri Beef says their work with Idaho's foreign trade office heads has made an unprecedented difference in the success of their business worldwide.
