As we told you in yesterday's program, President Trump addressed the 99th American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention last week.

He used the appearance to sign two presidential orders expanding access to broadband Internet in rural America.

Those Presidential orders are big news for America's Farmers and Ranchers, because most Agriculture happens in rural America. A study says 39 percent of rural Americans—23 million people—still can’t access high speed Internet.

Here is what the President had to say about the executive orders.

“That is why today, in a few moments, I will take the first step to expand access to broadband Internet in rural America. I will sign two Presidential Orders to provide broader, faster—and better—internet coverage.” "Those towers are going to go up and you're going to have great, great broadband."

Essentially - both bills are aimed at easing red tape.

The first of these orders calls upon the Department of the Interior to allow private companies access to infrastructure like radio towers on government-owned land. The second is to come up with a plan to reduce the amount of government paperwork needed to get permission to build internet in rural areas.
