Mountains and Northwest Colorado Areas

Most of the High Plains remained free of dryness and drought, with a moderate to deep

snowpack and temperatures averaging more than 20°F below normal.

However, western portions of the region (notably, the mountains) continued to

experience significant recovery from long-term Moderate (D1) to Severe (D2)

Drought. During the last week, precipitation totaled 1 to locally more than 3 inches from the Park Range in northern Colorado to the San Juan Mountains in the south.

A new USDA reports indicates export sales of corn went up 37-percent at 12.5 billion dollars from calendar year 2017 to 18. Soybean exports fell 20 percent to 6.5 billion and wheat exports were down 11 percent at 5.3 billion
