Brian Allmer Marketing Chair for the Colorado Farm Show tells Colorado Ag Today the money for the scholarships comes from the folks who pay for parking at the Events Center at Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley.

"What's really unique about our show is the money generated by the parking fee of $5.00 per vehicle, however many people who can cram into a pickup or a car or a tractor for that matter, actually is what we use to fund our scholarships in the most part. We are really proud of. The Colorado Farm show is supporting area youth pursuing a degree in ag field of study."

In total the Colorado Farm Show has awarded $233,000.00 in scholarships.

Allmer says the Colorado Farm show has grown over the past five decades from a small community event to one of national renown. It's also a story of how an annual event by growing and bettering itself has improved the facilities used by other groups throughout the year. This is the 55th Annual 3 day event starting January 29th, which will feature about 350 ag-related events. About 30-thousand visitors are expected to attend.
