Northeast Colorado Areas

Alfalfa Large Squares: Fair/Good 150.00, Utility 130.00.

Rounds: Utility 130.00. Orchard/Brome Grass Mix

Small Squares: Premium 370.00 (12.00 per bale), Retail/Stable.

Southeast Colorado Areas

Alfalfa Small Squares: Premium 250.00 (8.75 per bale).

San Luis Valley Area

Alfalfa

Large Squares: Supreme 250.00, Old Crop.

According to the U.S Drought Monitor Summary, 75.32 percent of the state falls in a D0-D4 Drought Category compared to 5.70 percent a year ago. Of those percentages, 50.55 percent falls into the D2, D3 or D4 categories. That is severe, extreme, exceptional.

A state of local emergency was declared by the La Plata County Manager due to the 416 Fire.

All of La Plata County is experiencing "exceptional drought" – the most severe category handed out by the U.S. Drought Monitor and is eligible for federal assistance because of the classification.
