The Colorado Farm Bureau says it remains concerned about the Trump administration's planned tariffs on imported aluminum and steel and additional tariffs on a number of Chinese products.

Farm Bureau Spokesman Shawn Martini says those countries will respond in kind.

"We just had word that China is going to be levying some 3 billion in tariffs on about 120 different US products that are sold into China. The biggest one of those that's worrying us is a 25 percent tariff on US pork as well as 15 percent tariffs on various different fruits vegetables and nuts that the US is one of China's largest suppliers for."

Martini says Colorado is not the largest pork exporter but the state grows a lot of crops that feed hog around the country.

Farm income across commodities has fallen by about 50 percent over the last four years and retaliation by trade partners makes the situation even worse.
