Insuring Farmers in the New Farm Bill

The crop insurance industry and a USDA's Risk Management Agency are playing a significant role in creating the 2018 Farm Bill.

The private industry reps say they and government agency officials are working together to find the best way to provide producers new insurance options through a new Farm Bill.

Zacharias says his industry group and USDA's Risk Management Agency or RMA had a good working relationship during the last Farm Bill process and he expects this new Farm Bill process will be the same.

Congressional Farm Bill writers hope to have the bill ready by March.
