The annual Colorado Gives Day kicked off at midnight.

Colorado Gives Day is a statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.

Made possible by Community First Foundation. Marla Williams is CEO

and says it's a good way to end the year. And it's a way to give where you know your gift is safe.

"It is a season of giving and it's a reflective time."

Williams audio from KUSA.

Community First Foundation and FirstBank each contributed $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund this year! It increases the value of every donation.

If a nonprofit organization receives 10 percent of the total amount of money raised on Colorado Gives Day, that same nonprofit receives 10 percent of the $1 Million Incentive Fund.

Colorado Gives Day is today but ColoradoGives.org is a year-round, online giving website with over 1,600 Colorado nonprofit organizations.

Donations can be made at ColoradoGives.org and if you have young philanthropist kidsforcoloradogives.org.
