Givers Love to Give Food

Lots of folks around the state seem to like to give food items and it's clear according the the National Retail Federation that we're not alone.

"Year over year we've seen an almost 3 percent increase in people giving food or candy for the holiday season."

Anna Sarifin Smith with the National Retail Federation told USDA Communications folks that according to a big consumer survey nationwide...

"The food and beverage stores came in as the favorite spot during the holiday season."

That's almost 20 percent of all holiday spending.
