The Vilsacks to Join Colorado State University

Former USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack has been named as a new strategic adviser of food and water initiatives for the National Western Center in addition to this position Vilsack has joined Denver Water and Colorado State University. His wife Christie is also joining CSU as he explains that one of the Center's components is Ag literacy

Vilsack: "Christie is a classroom teacher and someone who has been engaged and involved in education all of her life and is uniquely suited to help build the circular and to help build an understanding of agriculture and the importance of it and to try and figure ways to be incorporated into the school cirrocumuli. She has also had experience with international as part of the U.S.A. effort in terms of international education. I think she will bring to Colorado State University a opportunity to bridge their international programs as well. She is multiple talents and it is exciting to work with her in this effort."

Vilsack says he is looking forward to his new role as well.

Vilsack: "So it is a chance to continue doing work for the producers of this country — which I have a tremendous amount of respect and gratitude — and at the same time be part of hoping to figure out new creative ways to use scarce resources to balance the need of urban communities as well as the rural communities."
