Seeking Nominees for the Colorado Ag Exporting Awards

The Colorado Department of Agriculture is looking to recognize and honor Colorado companies for their export efforts through the second annual Governor’s Award for Agricultural Exporting. Colorado Department of Agriculture International Marketing Specialist John Addison shares more the why behind the awards
Addison: “The reason it is important we feel is that two of the main drivers of the Colorado economy is tourism and agriculture. In agriculture we have over $2 billion worth of exports every year and we felt it would great venue for highlighting some of our best companies.”
Two awards will be presented, one for Experienced Exporter to the recipient that continues to develop markets and maintain focus on excelling exports, the other to a New-To-Market exporter that achieved recent export initiatives.Companies and commodity associations are eligible to apply. The awards will be presented by the Governor during the Governor’s Forum on Colorado Agriculture February 18th in Denver.
Last year’s awards were presented to Keeton Industries of Wellington, Colo., as Experienced Exporter; and to Watkins Grain of Watkins, Colo., as the New-to-Market exporter.
