Western Water Symposium

Western Water Symposium

The Colorado State University’s Water Resources Archive is sponsoring a Western Water Symposium and Barbecue in Fort Collins on CSU’s campus at the Morgan Library on Monday July 27th.
CSU’s Water Resources Archive Head Archivist Patty Rettig shares more details about the day’s schedule which begins at 10 a.m. on the 27th.
Rettig: “We’re going to be having four main speakers throughout the day. Two in the morning focused mostly on historical subjects to kind of get a grounding on how we have gotten to where we are in terms of some water issues. Then in the afternoon we will have two speakers focused mostly on the future and where we are going. We are really not going to be talking too much about the present — because it is so much in the news but we will learn some historical lessons and then look at how we might apply those to the future and improving the situation we are in with our water right now.”
Following the symposium to wrap up the day will be the barbecue. Rettig continues with who should attend.
Rettig: “Anybody who is interested in the future of water in the West should attend this event. It is not just focused on water professionals, or historians, or water managers. We are really hoping that anybody that is interested in participating in the future of water will join us.
