If you’re an ag producer, you are always looking for a better way to improve your yield and one of those ways is to better monitor your machinery. Bobby Volesky, product manager with Intelligent Ag Solutions says they will be at the Four States Ag show.

VOLESKY: What we’re displaying at the Four States Ag Show will be our wireless blockage monitor. It’s an after-market product and we do sell it to some OEM’s. It determines whether or not their flow going through the individual openers on air seeders and press drills and dry fertilizer applicators. So any dry product we can basically monitor that’s being run through a pressurized or gravity drop system.

He says the system sends the information up to an iPad for the operator to monitor.

VOLESKY: Whether you have a blocked opener that’ll create skips through your field; you have unbalanced manifolds so one tower is getting more product than another tower on your air seeder which can reduce yield if you’re overseeding in some areas and underselling in others. We can also tell whether there’s the correct amount of product coming out of the metering roll.

And Volesky says their sensors are acoustic based which is unique.

VOLESKY: So we don’t have any wires going to each individual openers. Purely a mechanical sensor that uses the same type of technology like a stethoscope. That sound travels through our sensor, through a tube and into an ECU or electronic control unit that we have on each manifold and that turn it from an analog sound to a digital signal.
