Beef Gets Social Media Push

Beef Gets Social Media Push

Beef Gets Social Media Push. I’m Greg Martin with Colorado Ag Today.

Tami Arnold, Director of Marketing for the Colorado Beef Council has been busy getting the word out about beef and targeting specific markets like Facebook.

ARNOLD: The Colorado Beef Council is very active on Facebook. We not only have our page but we also, what’s called “boost our posts” so we pay a very small fee to make sure that our messaging that we want to get out to that target market is geo-targeted to the State of Colorado, to that end-user that we are trying to get to.

In addition to Facebook she says that they are also on Twitter and other social media. They also hit other online websites in Colorado.

ARNOLD: One is 5280.com. A great website. Very local kind of Denver metro area but it’s kind of the goto site for the millennials and we also do a couple of other things, one of which is Choozle and Choozle is kind of a digital agency that feeds our message out to various websites so we don’t have to have just a campaign with say a Nine News or the Denver Post, they target market for us and send that information out to a whole bunch of different websites so we get a lot more bang for our buck.

But there is also something to be said about good old face-time and that means going to shows like the Colorado Farm Show.

ARNOLD: My co-worker, Juli Moore, and I will be there talking about some of the things we do on social media and how that relates to the Colorado ranchers and in turn to their consumers.

And that’s Colorado Ag Today. I’m Greg Martin, thanks for listening on the Ag Information Network of the West.
